I'm Aurelia (pronounced oh-really-huh) Lambrechts

​An ugly hand-me-down yellow mixing bowl, a small student housing kitchen, and a borrowed handmixer... that's how I started my Home Bakery in 2012.

My super stressful 8 am – 5 pm desk job had led me down a path towards lifetime anxiety meds...

unless I made a drastic change.

Since I was a little girl, baking had always been this beautiful, pure world (that smelled like my Gran...) I could escape to and create something that brings pure joy and comfort to others - and me.

 

I have a feeling you understand.

After baking as a side-hustle business for a year, I realized (in 2013) that I wanted to quit my desk job and bake from home instead.

 But my newly married husband and I had ZERO capital and student debts of $40k!! Fun.

What followed were 4 years of researching, testing, and refining... not just recipes, but how a consistently profitable home bakery actually functions in the real world.

Through a lot of trial, error, and learning, I began to understand what it takes to build a home bakery that people return to.

I noticed that a fulfilling business is rooted in relationships, informed business decisions, and a deep understanding of your customers.

This led to earning a full-time salary from my home baking for 6 1/2 years and it was an absolute blast! (I've got some physical challenges, so that's why I had to start scaling down in 2022)
 

I know exactly what it’s like to start from zero — on a tight budget, with big dreams and very real responsibilities.

Since 2018, I’ve helped home bakers learn the business side of baking and build businesses that are designed to last.
